Some thoughts about recovery. * Take what you like and leave the rest.
We're striving for acceptance of ourselves, our past, other people,and our present circumstances while in recovery. Acceptancebrings serenity and freedom – the freedom to take care ofourselves.
Acceptance is not a one-step process. Before we achieveacceptance, there are stages of denial, anger, negotiating, andsadness. We call these stages the grief process. Grief can befrustrating. It can be confusing. We may vacillate. Others may notunderstand us. We may neither understand ourselves nor our ownbehavior while we're grieving our losses. Then one day, thingsbecome clear.
Don't worry. If we are taking steps to take care of ourselves, we willmove through this process at exactly the right pace. Beunderstanding with yourself and others for the very human way wego through transition.
