Some thoughts about recovery. * Take what you like and leave the rest.
Years into recovery, we may still be battling with ourselves aboutthis issue, (feeling our feelings). Of all the prohibitions we've livedwith, this one is potentially the most damaging and the mostlong-lived.
Many of us needed to shut down the emotional part of ourselves tosurvive certain situations. We shut down the part of us that feelsanger, sadness, fear, joy, and love. We may have turned off oursexual or sensual feelings too. Many of us lived in systems withpeople who refused to tolerate our emotions. We were shamed orreprimanded for expressing feelings, usually by people who weretaught to repress their own.
But times have changed. It is okay now for us to acknowledge andaccept our emotions. We don't need to allow our emotions to controlus; neither do we need to rigidly repress our feelings. Our emotionalcenter is a valuable part of us. It's connected to our physicalwell-being, our thinking, and our spirituality.
Our feelings are also connected to that great gift, instinct. Theyenable us to give and receive love.Web Stores:eCrater - http://wrhmcp.ecrater.com/Webidz - http://www.webidz.com/stores/WRHPolice Registry - http://www.wrhmcp.comAtomic Mall - http://www.atomicmall.com/wrhmcpAmazon - http://www.amazon.com/shops/wrhmcp
